Ruddy-turnstone-breeding-male-&-female

5/16/2012

Montrose, Chicago

The bird at front is a male whereas the one at the back is a female. The reason for this is that the backness on and around the face, neck and shoulder and the rusty feather of the back are paler on females than those on the males.
