Day 17: Repair

    Newer Older

I recently bought this tunic, and after selecting my normal size off the rack, I bought it without trying it on. Then I got home and realized this was for the hoochie mama type of girl...very tight and accentuating every. last. curve. So I went back and exchanged for a bigger size, but then it needed a little altering on the top since it was too big. A nice seam down the back, and it might be my new favorite wardrobe item. But then again, you should know by now that anything striped is my favorite item :)

    cardigan: cozy
    striped tunic: h&m (repaired item)
    leggings: target
    boots: target

I love the stripes! And I'm glad you don't go for the hoochy mama look. It wouldn't suit.

Oh man, I LOVE this outfit. Current H&M? Because I might need to go find it.

Yep! I just bought it last week when I was in Vegas!

Stripes and mustard, what could be better?

Isn't it funny how a simple sizing up can make an outfit move from hoochie to classy? I'm a bit jealous of your sewing skills, because that dress is awesome now!

So, how are those Target boots? I am hunting for brown boots this fall, and I can't decide if I should blow big bucks or go for cheapies. I plan to wear the heck out of them, so cheap ones scare me. But then, so do the giant price tags.

The boots are actually from three years ago. They were $30, I think, and they have held up great. I'm careful about wearing them in really bad snow (because that means there will be lots of salt), and I try to wipe them down about once a week so they stay looking good. I love them, wear them ALL the time during the fall and winter, and haven't been able to find a pair that I like more at a better price! However, I'm on the hunt this year to find a pair that is more fitted to my calves...that's my biggest boot struggle. Good luck with finding a pair!
