Pen Park Hole

This photo has been made from two joined together. On the centre left, is the remains of the old entrance to Pen Park Hole. A huge limestone cavern with several legends attached to it's history. At the time of this photo, the entrance had long been sealed by a concrete "plug".

In the distance, Filton golf course can just be seen. The area on the horizon has also seen mining activity.

A lot of this area is now built up.

If you visit Steve Sharp's photostream you'll see what it looks like underground. Amazing photos !
