Plain Xenops - Xenops minutus - Picolezna Menudo
The Plain Xenops (pronounced Zee-Nops) is usually in the shadows and almost always on the move. This one decided to sit still for a moment just as the last rays of the sun were slanting through the forest.
I am not the biggest fan of my photography, but this is an image I quite like. The lighting is striking the bird nicely and the complex setting adds interest to the image. Shooting at 2500 ISO on a slightly dated camera is not the best noisewise, but it is okay. In the bottom right corner you can see debris glowing in a spider web. I thought about editing it out, but decided not to.
