Irmari Nacht, books104WaterTao

Irmari Nacht’s recycled books, a series entitled ‘SAVED’, uses books that otherwise might be discarded and transforms them into artworks. Her work is in the permanent collections of Newark Museum; the International Museum of Collage, Mexico; Bowdoin College; Jimmy Carter Museum; Cleveland Art institute; Rutgers University, and Yale Art Museum.

books104WaterTao has grown from a 4" book to 30" through a series of cuts and spirals reaching out to the viewer with subliminal messages. It is a physical manifestation of Tao concepts of "flowing with the constantly changing stream of life.... to live in universal harmony and balance". This ebb and flow is the continual recycling essential to life.
