Arvon Wellen, Ebb and Flow; Driftwood and Detritus
Arvon is an artist and maker of books who uses photography and digital processes in combination with traditional techniques such as lithography and pochoir. His interest in, and the theme of, this book is not just about the natural world but about the push and pull of social and political tensions in Catalunya.
The theme was derived from photographs taken at the edge of the sea depicting the tide’s ebb and flow and the detritus left behind. A symbol was conceived as a stencil for cutouts and stenciled colour (including red and orange) that evolved from photographing the detritus.
