BSL Marcus Garvey: Mosaic for your momma.
30 days, 132 studs, $23.77.
Cheers to Simon and my fellow SHIPwrights (except for Rutherford) for another spirited edition of the challenge. I kind of fell off in my commentary in the last week and I look forward to checking out the Armada.
A big thanks to Erik for the inspiration, trying to replicate your design in the brick was both fun and challenging in equal measures. I definitely bludgeoned all the Mobius out of the ship formerly known as Hilda, but I think I succeeded in capturing her spirit (at least from the front).
A big thanks to Zach for bailing me out in the 11th hour and doctoring my lousy photos. I owe you one my crony!
Thanks also to Katie Walker and Paul Hartzog for the star mosaic design and airlock concept respectively, When in doubt, always steal from the best!
I'll have more to say about both the Marcus Garvey and SHIPtember, check out the Manifesto in a couple of days if you're so inclined. This came closer to the wire than I ever expected and I need to have a beer and think about anything except this ship for a while.
A final cheers to everyone who provided feedback along the way, I took a lot of your suggestions (I lowered the tower by 2 full bricks Gil, I swear!) and the Garvey is definitely better for it.
Except for Rutherford of course, his suggestions were all crap and so was his chibi bread-hauling tanker.
