Scientific name: Clematis paniculata
Maori name: Puawhanga
Found on all islands in lowland and lower montane forests. Flowers are large, to 100mm, white and six-petalled in large panicles. It can be found reaching up into the canopy of New Zealand native trees during spring and is classed as endemic.
