jornada_speaker
The Jornada 720, outfitted awkwardly but effectively with an external Altec-Lansing speaker.
The Jornada's sound driving capability is surprisingly good, but the machine's internal speaker is terrible!
Not only can you barely hear anything about it to begin with, but it's on the *bottom* of the device (which, you know, is generally facing downward while the device is in use).
But...with the external speaker plugged into the headphone jack, the sound quality is decent. The device runs Windows Media player, meaning it can play music and such (I haven't tried playing videos on it; I suspect they'd be fairly slow, though, but music doesn't sound too bad). It also has fairly coherent text-to-speech output using a program called SwiftTalker I installed.
