A little sneak peak for my friend who designed this shawl. Simple Things by Mary-Heather Cogar
My only modification was I did two instead of three eyelet garter ridges.
The yarn I used is a mohair or mohair blend I got about 4 years ago and I long ago lost the skein band. It's very soft, with a gorgeous sheen and is its two-ply structure means it blocks out and drapes beautifully which gives it a very different hand to the sturdy and sproingy sock yarn indicated in the pattern.
Because of all this, even though I worked fewer rows than the pattern indicated, after washing and blocking, it came up quite a bit bigger than the pattern indicated, without stretching at all. It’s approximates 52” wide by 22” deep.
Oh and I love it.
