Mirror Mirror...

...on the wall.

Well, on a flower stalk actually.

Here is a ½mm long aphid youngster trekking down through the bristles of a stalk on a wild poppy this morning after the rains had been beating down in Preston for the last hour.

I often wonder what insects do in the rain. I thought perhaps that this one had been in the flower itself somewhere and once it decided to leave there to somewhere, it chose to do so after the rain had stopped. Do they bother that much about rain? I don't have a clue.

Anyway, here it is faced with a droplet of rain water on the stalk. It did clamber past afterwards, but here it can probably see its reflection in the surface of the droplet, hence the title.

C&C as always.
