Don't tease me! Please bring them back! I have gone through two pregancies now with this as the only "real" craving. My sisters and I (late 30's to 40) used to love these and dinasour eggs. I wish companies wouldn't do away with these good old time favorites. Those were the days....

I sent an email to Nestle and their reply is as follows: Possibly if they get enough requests for Wacky Wafers maybe they will bring them back: Thank you for contacting Wonka® Wacky Wafers®.

Unfortunately, we no longer manufacture Wonka® Wacky Wafers® and have no remaining stock available. Sales volume was not great enough to justify space on the retailers' shelves.

At this time we have no plans to bring back the product; however, please be assured that I have reported your inquiry to our Marketing Department.

We appreciate your interest and hope you will visit our website often for the latest information on our products and promotions.

      Sincerely,

      Mike Knight

Today (1-10-09) I was out with my family on a Charms Sweet & Sour sucker search. After the first stop I was disappointed to find no Charm suckers (my child did get the 2 foot Pixy though). Before climbing back into the whip to continue the search. Bam, just like that I remembered this store was the only one in town to sale Wacky Wafers. The Original half dollar sized ones too. Then my daughter (9) asked what are Wacky Wafers? I was like, "oh baby, you just don't know." Then her mother just shook her head, like you'll never know. I had to explain to her to that those were the BEST CANDIES ever. Literally the BEST CANDY ever. I told her about the package, the size of 'em, how old I was (5-18), yada, yada, yada.. But I have to say the roll of Wacky Wafers (circa mid to late 80's) were not as good as the old school Wackies. Please BRING THEM BACK. For all the Wacky Wafer deprived children of the world.
Banana Flavor is the one though..............................................!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, I did find the Sweet & sour Charm suckers. Dave's Liquors Oliver Rd. Fairfield Ca.

Hi all you Bloggers that love Wacky Wafers. I am the daughter of wileys4783 (9). I know that my dad gave you a long story. Well here is mine. Our trip started out at Jolly King. That's where we started on our Charms Sweet & Sour sucker search. They had an o.k. candy selection though. No old school, back in the day candy. That's when my mother (35) and father (39) told me about the Wacky Wafers. They sound really good. Bottom line is BRING THEM BACK. I would really like to try them. I'm one of those deprived kids of the world!!!!

These were so great! Like everyone else, the middle pack is the most familiar. Thanks for sharing Dan.

I remember the middle packaging as well. Today I was @ CVS & thought I saw a package & got excited but alas, they were Willy Wonka candies but NOT Wacky Wafers. I also like the banana & watermelon flavors the best. (I also like the banana runts & like to get them in bulk @ stores that sell only banana rather than the whole mix) My memories of them was during the summers while I was attending elementary school when the nearby pool had a snack bar where we'd buy them. The music of the 80s is on XM radio, now we need the candy too. :)

I've been drooling for the Wafers since I was a kid. They were the... best. My favs were the watermelon and the green apple (!). Whenever some kid at school would see me unwrapping those bad boys they would beg for one and they got my banana one. T'was my least favorite.

When I was in HS 1982 I think, I snuck down to the third row of Madison Square Garden to see Jimmy Page play for the first time since Bonzo died (Ronnie Lane ARMS Benefit concert). I carried with me a Green Apple Wacky Wafer for the moment he came onstage.

When he did, I turned around, standing on my seat and raised the Wacky Wafer as if it were the Host from Catholic Church, broke it into bits and placed it on the outstretched tongues of the burn-outs (total strangers, btw!) seated behind me. Although a few of them may have thought I was giving them LSD, I was giving them the power, the glory and the taste sensation of the Holy Wacky Wafer.

I saved a piece that night and wrapped it inside a piece of loose leaf paper. Somewhere in my apartment is a tiny piece of that Green Apple Wacky Wafer from that awesome evening with Jimmy Page.
