In the centenary year of the end of World War 1, the C.E.W.Bean Foundation, in partnership with the Melbourne Press Club, held an annual commemorative dinner honouring Australian war correspondents, photographers, artists and cinematographers.

Paul Kelly, editor-at-large of The Australian, gave the dinner address assessing the remarkable career of war correspondent, broadcaster and author Chester Wilmot.

The dinner was held at the historic Melbourne Savage Club.
