Stork-billed Kingfisher

This is one of four different Kingfishers I saw this day in this particular location in India. This is also one of the biggest. There are altogether about 12 different Kingfishers available in the province of West Bengal that I visited. It was a short two-week social visit, so didn't have much time to go into birding hotspots other than a few local ones. One such spot is an Oxbow lake formed by River Ganges. For two hours, I rented a small wooden dinghy paddled by a local fisherman to ride around the lake. Managed to get 6 new life birds from this excursion alone. This is one of them. My first time visit there back in 2014 produced about 16 life birds. This time I saw most of them plus six new ones. Chupi Char, Purbasthali, West Bengal, India.
