Pentax Close Up
After hiding behind a digital camera since for most of the year I finally thought it was about time to pick up a film camera and see what I could do when I didnt have an auto setting. On top of that Ive also descovered a love for developing my own negatives and processing my own prints (got a great deal on a full darkroom kit from a lovely chap on ebay a few weeks ago).
So armed with a Ricoh KR-10M that I found at a carboot sale a few weeks ago I snapped a roll of film (that I put together myself with the film loader that came with the kit - along with about 85 foot of ilford delta 100 ... told ya great deal!)
I still have a lot to learn and focusing with an enlarger is a whole new experience to someone who is used to having a total auto focus feature on everything they own but so far I have to say I'm thrilled. The feeling of utter wonderment as you put a blank peice of paper into a dish of developer only to see a photo start to appear after a few seconds is ... well mindblowing!
So now Im a girl who still loves digital but also has a obsession for taking, developing and processing 35mm film.
The quality isn't as good as the picture I have in my hand but that's down to the scanner - I'll work on it! (Oh and just realise my exif data is showing my scanner - so I guess I'll work on that too!!!!)
