DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT TRYING TO PASS
between Tara and Baby. Tara is short for Terrible Feral. She joined us in 2002 after having spent ten years in a cat sanctuary that had to close down when they lost their lease. She was one of the most vicious cats we'd ever seen. She lived for many years in Cat House #8 and was one of the Top Shelf Ferals. The Top Shelf Gang absolutely hates and mistrusts humans of every sort. Probably with good reason. At the smell of a human they bolt to the top shelf of a large cat tree and will lean down to slash at heads. Trying to capture one of them for any medical treatment is a real nightmare.
A couple years ago Tara's teeth began to go bad. On the first appointment a couple were pulled. A few months later some more. And then almost all of them. I have a number of old ferals with few or no teeth who do just fine eating dry cat food. But Tara cannot. She must eat only canned food. This is almost impossible in the cat runs. So she had to move into Assisted Living where the canned food buffet is kept stocked all day long.
She'd just as soon take your head off as look at you. So stand back.
Baby is what we call a Friendly Biter.
