Golden Gate Fog: Marin Headlands, California
Okay, I'm going to post a few black and white images here in the next week or so... plus, all these recent GGB images from Maxxsmart, Lukas, & Saurabh are just freaking me out & have inspired me to dig back into my shots. Thanks for the inspiration, guys!
I've been wanting to do some greyscale versions of images for a few months now, but have had mixed feelings about the whole deal. I've even had some conversations with myself (yeah, so?) about making black and white images from color digital images.
I haven't really experimented a whole lot with black and white since I printed my own images in the darkroom. Black and white was always a tactile process of printing an image on paper. It has been a rough change in my mindset to convert a color digital image into a black and white for some reason.
I don't exactly know why, but it just seems almost like a copout, or like I'm only making it because the color isn't good enough. I think that was what the main draw to B&W film was for me in the past -it could only be B&W, so there were less options and opportunity for the image in the fist place.
Criticism and comments are very welcome here!
