Morro Rock
Must be viewed LARGE!
Morro Rock is one of those things that begs to be photographed. It is 576ft tall, 23 million years old, and is one of 9 extinct volcano plugs in the area.
My wife and I headed out one morning and enjoyed a sunrise here. I was surprised to see so many people on this beach. It is a huge beach, and many surfers, joggers, dog-walkers and wanderers passed by before 7:30am on Sunday morning.
It is directly in front of the town of Morro Bay, so access is very easy. The beach is mildly sloped, so it is perfect for photographing reflections as the waves retreat.
