Cave entrance at 400m asl, Skyros, June 2011
Entrance to a pothole we explored while searching for bats on the Greek island of Skyros, as part of a survey of all bat fauna on the island. There were no traces of bats in the hole, or in the area around (no guano, no owl pellets).
The cave is at an altitude of 400m a.s.l. and the entrance affords great views south over the island.
Shot on a Nikon D3100 in available light, slightly processed and tagged in GIMP.
