West Highland Way - A personal journey

A map illustrating my walk of the West Highland Way in 2020.

It's a very personal project indicating distance walked / time taken / elevation climbed and well as indicators of the predominant weather and sunset time.

Created using QGIS 3.14 (map and layout) and Inkscape 1.0 (graphs and symbols).

Terrain data is derived from OS Terrain 50, shaded using Advanced Hillshade and Shadow functions from Terrain Shading plugin, and Visible Sky tool from SAGA toolbox. www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/business-government/products/ter...

Other vectors such as water and woodland derived from OS Open Zoomstack (colours adjusted from Outdoor style). www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/business-government/products/ope...

Munro labels derived from Data of British and Irish Hills v17. www.hills-database.co.uk/

Weather derived from the Met Office: www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/guides/what-does-this-foreca...
