God of Winds Temple and waves breaking over coastal reef offshore.

You can just barely see the break in the reef on the right side - this is the only crossing in a long stretch of reef along the Mayan coast that ancient ships used as trade routes. The Castillo pyramid functioned as a guide to cross this channel by having 'windows' that would shine light through if you were correctly aligned in the middle of the safe channel clear of reef.
