Rat plague: Chin state, Burma

Vast swarms of rats consume the mautam fruit, which causes the rats to breed exponentially. Once the mautam fruits have all been eaten, the rats turn on villager’s crops devouring them. This has caused widespread food insecurity in the region affecting an estimated 100,000 in Chin state. This man has caught over 1200 rats in the just 2 months.
