2011 Ladbrokes Irish Grand National
2011 saw the start of a new era for the Irish Grand National. After 10 years at the helm, previous sponsors Powers Whiskey have passed over the reins to Ladbrokes, Ireland’s biggest bookmaker.
The Easter Festival got underway on Sunday 24th April with the Carton House Most Stylish Lady Competition and the Powers Gold Cup. In addition Horse Racing Ireland recognised the achievements of the record breaking 13 Irish Winners at the 2011 Cheltenham Festival by presenting connections with customised ties of the sillks of all the conenctions and photoframes.
The first Ladbrokes.com Irish Grand National was held on the 25th April 2011 and the prize fund for the Easter Monday highlight amounted to €250,000.
