A Portrait by Franz Duschek

Photographer: Franz Duschek (~1830 - 1884); find more about him in description of

Date: ~1877-1884 considering that this photo and the one of Szöllösy, presented above are of the same man, and that the age difference is small, it is possible that Duschek had used the improvised hand applied verso, in his last period of work in Bucharest, after he had sold his studio and before he had left for Cairo. So, perhaps the date was end 1883- begining 1884.

Location: Bucharest, Romania

The portrayed: unknown gentleman, friend of Obregia, possibly a medical student

Format: CDV, blank reverse with the ink stamp of Duschek ; it is difficult to explain the replacement of the printed reverse with the ink stamp: a shortage of printed cards (that were imported)? or probably he had already sold his studio (and could use the cards with his last address in Bucharest.
