A Charming Couple

Photographer: Nestor Heck famous photographer of Iassy / Iași.. Activity 1850-?~1900. Addresses: Sfântul Spiridon Street, Strada Mare (Grand Rue), (on the later Lăpușneanu street 42), for a period, on Golia street, and later, again on the Grand Rue. In 1889, he received a Diploma of Honour of the International Exhibition in Paris. This photo is from Heck's second location.

N.B.: I do not know the dates for each location, neither if their period of activity overlapped. It seems that in 1872 he was still working in his first studio.

Date: 1870's (from the Grand rue location - i.e. at least 1872, but square corners; rather elaborate reverse, "Artis amica nostrae", also met at other photographers in the late 1870's)

Location: Iassy / Iași Romania

The portrayed: unknown upper class couple, Romanian officer and his lady

Format: CDV

N.B.2: Note, on the reverse, the photo camera as a socle for the Goddess of Fine Arts
