Hoodoo Bones (Runes)

These runes are handmade by Sheloya with the symbols embedded, not just painted on. They're as simple to use as Norse runes, but with a few differences. They are read by the four planes, not just the four directions, and there is a direction/orientation bone and Oya's mirror. Oya's mirror tells you whether the reading is telling you about the past and present or the future.

These were designed as they were for two reasons. One was so that a person who has the drive in them, but not the resources to train in diloggun (Yoruba shell divination) can read them. Secondly, many in the diaspora have incorporated symbols from other cultures, and those are legitimate modern adaptations.

Though I'd be happy for people to buy my bones, I'm also just as happy for people to make their own and post them on Flickr. I'd like to see more people trying out this method and what sort of symbols they use too.
