Pictured above is the middle waterfall I'm calling Middle Brasstown Falls. This is one of the best waterfall stops I've ever visited anywhere. Been a long time since I've seen anything like it. Not a very far walk at all from the car to the top of the upper falls, but after that it's pretty steep and narrow to get to the bottom of the lower falls, and I could see where it may be a little treacherous with ice or being wet. The top 2 falls can be seen stacked on one another a little downstream from this shot.
I liked the middle falls the best, took many different shots of this one. Had to do a little wading at the bottom falls to get the angle I wanted, took off my boots and the water was icy cold.
There is another waterfall on another stream that flows in upstream of the upper, middle and lower ones. I've seen it called Little Brasstown Falls. You can look across the stream on the way in and see it, this time of year anyway. Visiting it requires getting across the rather deep stream, luckily there is a large fallen tree that makes a good bridge, though it may be a little dangerous with camera gear in the event it was wet.
Anyway all 4 of these great falls can be seen with a total walk/climb of about 1/2 mile. Be sure to include this place in any waterfall trips to the area. There were 2 nice young guys here fishing that were leaving just as we arrived at the upper falls so we had it all to ourselves and stayed almost an hour, a great way to end our first day of the trip.
