You are well within your rights to use the court system for legitimate purposes. If someone published something that was untrue about me, I too might choose legal recourse. I also send my condolences regarding the passing of your mentor. James, if you were offended by a published/broadcast untruth, could you perhaps understand why some people have been angry with some of your tactics? What is chacterized as "hard-hitting undercover journalism" by some, can be characterized by others as "creating a situation", then reporting on what you create as "news." Expose's of situations a "journalist" sets up themselves may have strong elements of dishonesty, especially if their premise seeks a certain predetermined outcome. Such practices may not constitute good journalism, however sensationalistic and headline grabbing they may be. Writers such as Woodward and Bernstein did not create Watergate, legitimate whistleblowers report wrongdoings. I sincerely ask you to please consider this. He who seeks equity must come with clean hands. Again, my condolences on the passing of your friend.
