Rasta has a portrait!

    Newer Older

Rasta, a curious little Blue Jay, sits, momentarily, for a close up portrait.

He was waiting for a peanut and wasn't really pleased that I was doing this. After all, what can be more important than a peanut?

Gorgeous capture! As soon as I show up in my back yard in the morning the Blue Jays are the first to show up.They start squawking untill I go get the bag of peanuts. I have a feeding table I made for them and as soon as I put the peanuts out and turn my back, they pounce!

I find that the Blue Jay Gang supplies me with an almost endless opportunity for nice shots. My biggest challenge is to capture their images in different ways. There are many, many great shots of these birds, done by many, many people, but I keep trying to find a new view that shows what, and who, they really are.

I'm just happy that they are so understanding of my antics. I believe that a large peanut supply may aid me.
