The Longtail boat is a common method of transport in South East Asia, particularly around Thailands islands. The boat is named due to the long pole that separates the propeller from the engine. The engines are usually just converted, moped or car engines mounted on a pivot.

The ribbons are attached to the prow, the sacred part of the boat, are used as a shrine to the spirits of the sea for good luck.
