CIGARETTE IN MY HAND (I FELT LIKE A MAN)
Its almost past mid night and I just finished a painting of a portrait . It just happened that I was checking for one of the most talented and underrated singer of India, Gary Lawyer who was very famous in the 90’s. ‘Cigarette in my hand ‘ (I felt like a man) is one of my favorite song . I thought why not paint an image which really fits this song and I came with this portrait.
Its been a long time since I did any black and white image and I had a great time doing it. Once I start doing the painting, time goes just like that.
I also sent this image to my friend through WhatsApp, and he is also an artist, who is specialized in doing portraits. Never sleeps in the night. Always busy doing portraits. He liked it very much but popped a question like always. The title is Cigarette in my hand, but the cigarette is on his lips?
I replied, he cannot hold cigarette in his hand all the time. He has to smoke. It’s just like movie posters; we have to understand the title and what goes on in the movie. Hopefully he understood the logic. He is non-stop when it comes to sending message and having conversation. He can go on and on for hours in the night, discussing about portraits. Unbearable pain for my ears.
And now a days just by listening to songs im getting inspired. Its strange that we as people get inspired from so many things which we never dreamt of. Next im planning to do a painting with a subject of fireflies. This too after listening to a Indian rock band song. Hope I get inspiration from simple things around me, which inspire me and keep me busy painting.
Its almost 2 in the night and time to get a good sleep and get up early in the morning. Get ready and attend my French class. Problem is I have to get up early. I can get acquainted doing painting all night long but getting up early is a problem. God save me.
“The greatest challenge in life is to be our own person and accept that being different is a blessing and not a curse. A person who knows who they are lives a simple life by eliminating from their orbit anything that does not align with his or her overriding purpose, values and inspiration. A person must be selective with their time and energy because both elements of life are limited.”
