Fotheringhay Church (Births and Deaths)

Beautiful little village with a very big history. Just to the right of here are the remains of a castle mound where Mary Queen of Scots was beheaded in 1587 and also where Richard the Third was born in 1452. Richard is big news at the minute as they think they may have found his missing body in Leicester (bet he's got the right hump about that). Its a very pretty place to be born or beheaded. (If you really feel the need to be beheaded).

The castle was destroyed but parts of it were incorporated into The Talbot Hotel in Oundle including the staircase, which supposedly still bears the imprint of Mary's ring in it as she grasped the rail on the way to the block. If you do ever get to visit there is an amazing coffee shop next to the Talbot called Beans that makes the best Malteser Milkshake on the planet.

Please don't steal my Photo's, they come from my heart, so that would be like cannibalism, and that's just YUK!!!!!
