Tania #284

I recently picked up a new lens and wanted to try it out on a street portrait, I last shot with a 50mm focal length for a portrait a while ago but it was a 1.8 and didn't match the quality of my L zoom lenses so I haven't used it in a while. So I decided this weekend to take only my 50 1.2L for using on the streets. It's a lens that I have wanted for a long time, having been undecided between that and the 85 1.2 for a while but in the end the draw of the nifty fifty won out.

I met up with a friend as we had planned a night shoot in London and figured we could shoot some street portraits during the afternoon. Sadly the weather was dreadful so most of the day was spent in the pub, however I did venture out during a break in the weather and spotted Tania in the Seven Dials area of Covent Garden.

Tania was perfectly happy to stop for a photograph and as it was a busy day it gave me the chance to really try out the lens to see how it handled blowing out busy streets.

I am really pleased with the lens and it is not coming off my camera anytime soon!
