Mechanics and Boat Building Lesson - Oct 7-28th 2016
A group of 17 students and teachers from three continents came together for a Mechanics & Boat Building Lesson from the 7-28th Oct 2016. During the first two weeks at Abhaya Waldorf School, Hyderabad- India students and teachers built four 14 feet flat skiff boats, while simultaneously learning about Internal Combustion Engines, Fuels and Buoyancy.

The group then travelled to a village town called Devarakota and sailed/motored in the Krishna river near Nagayalanka, from 22-27th Oct 2016. It was a multi-faceted experience working with their head, heart and hands. Data for river profiles with depths and coordinates were collected and a map drawn. A cultural Kolatam dance program was also arranged for our benefit, by our generous and kind hosts, Srini and his family. One boat was donated to the village, as part of the community service component of the program.

It was a journey in space and time that was exciting and enjoyable, full of twists and turns. An experience that will remain with the teachers and students, to reminisce in later years.
