October 15, 2016 Vietnam Memorial Dedication Ceremony in Vancouver
The public is invited to a ceremony for the unveiling and dedication of the new Vietnam Memorial Monument as well as to honor all Vietnam era veterans on Sat., October 15 at the Veterans Affairs Vancouver Campus Vietnam Veterans Garden.

A reception with light refreshments and Veteran-related information booths will start at 10:00 a.m. in the VA gymnasium, adjacent to the Vietnam Memorial Garden. The ceremony will start at 11:00 a.m. Follow the signs to the event once you enter the VA campus at 1601 E. 4th Plain Boulevard, Vancouver, WA 98663.

This new memorial will honor 59 Clark County veterans who were killed in Vietnam. Engraved plaques with the war heroes names are mounted on stone monuments under the Huey helicopter in the Vietnam Memorial Gardens. All Vietnam era veterans will be recognized and honored at the event and will be presented with a 50th Anniversary of Vietnam commemorative pin.
Featured speakers at the event will include Jerilyn Brusseau and Rae Cheney, a sister and the Goldstar mother of U.S. Army 1st Lt. Daniel B. Cheney. 1st Lt. Cheney is one of the Clark County service members who was killed in Vietnam in 1969 and listed on the new memorial.
