Dakota Southern Railway, Belvidere, SD
The rails are briefly exposed at the paved over crossing in Belvidere, SD, but quickly disappear into the South Dakota Prairie heading west. The rail line is active a few miles west of Chamberlain, and as of now, it is being used for coal empty storage. The good news is that the line has been extensively rehabilitated between Chamberlain east to Mitch where it has new rails, ties, and ballast.
