"We Happy Few": My print for the "More Than You Imagined: a Tribute to Premium Cable" show at Bottleneck Gallery.

Inspired by the HBO WWII miniseries BAND OF BROTHERS, I started out featuring 4 main characters from the series in this piece, but decided to make it a general rendering representative of all WWII paratroopers … especially as the Easy Company depicted in the series were real guys. Therefore it’s a tribute to all of the men who jumped on D-day … facing the unimaginable terror of dropping into blackness, filled with bullets, explosions, planes and other jumpers. I imagine you’d have to jump assuming you’d die, and then count your lucky stars if you made it to the ground alive, in one piece. Truly some of the bravest men in history.

I am working on a coordinating piece for the companion series THE PACIFIC.

12x16 prints are for sale on the gallery website now. (My name does not appear on the top of the actual print as it does here.) Show runs through September 28th at 60 Broadway in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Partial proceeds from the show go to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
