Lisa's Dinner: Tandoori Shrimp Skewers with Cabbage Slaw (with some pecans)

Lisa left out the yogurt to keep the carb count low but here is the regular recipe:

 

Tandoori Prawns

 

1lb prawns ( 15 count)

1 tb tandoori paste - I used Patak's (wet paste)

3 tb yogurt (use Greek yogurt in this recipe, it's creamier and has a lower water content than regular yogurt)

1 tb olive oil

1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper

a pinch of salt

 

Wash ( in very cold water) and peel prawns, leaving tail intact. It serves as a handle while you feast on it ;) Pat dry.

In a bowl, mix tandoori paste, yogurt and olive oil. Marinate prawns in this paste for half an hour. Do not marinate any longer as the yogurt could soften the prawns and make it mealy.

 

Or you can put them on skewers and brush the paste on to marinate them.

 

Cook on grill pan.
