Peas & Peppermint Soup

It's the end of September and I have a green peas in my garden. Cause I do not live in California but in Poland it is a little miracle. I belive this is Mother Nature answering my strong desire to photograph green peas. I find peas with it's flovers, pods and little springs so beautifull. This spring I planted two kinds of sweet peas in my garden. Took so much effort to take care of it but in July when I suppose to collect crops, my companny got a urgent propousal to open a new shop which I could not reject. Whole July I work on this new project 12-16 hour a day and do not even have time to look at my garden, than we went for 2 weeks of the vacation and when I came back and find some time for photography all of the pea plants was dry already. " Next year" I told myself clining dry peas from my garden but was disconsolate. In the middle of August I saw little sprouts coming out of in the cleaned place. Peas planted itself with seeds I never collected. I was happy to see them but knew they will never have time to grown enought before cold sesson come. I was wrong we have such a nice sunny September this year that my pea bloomed and now has first full pods. Thank you Mother Nature!

Martina Funny but I think clarity is what is missing on this photo. Anyway- here you are with lighting:
it's afternoon light on not so sunny day, north window, opened , the surface ( lightly blue color) is on the level of window's sill. Camera is just in front of the window- it means I take photos against light. In the window I put some white baking paper (not even to defuse light but to make my background white- other way I would have strong green color of the forest I live in), and all arround seating and in front of it and even behind my back I have polistyrene boards to reflect lights and open the shadows. It was quit dark, probably to dark but I could not loose my secound chance with green peas and decided to take photos anyway. But it mean I had to overexpose photos very much Up to the end of the scale in my camera viev (I could do it also because I knew green is the color to which you can do it (same with red) never try to do it with yellow or orange they look very ugly when you overexpose it this much.) When you overexpose photos clarity is one of first thing you loose. I did safe some of it by post-processing (but I'm not very good at it - just learning and mostly by myself (beside what Laksmi showed me during our meeting). Does it helps Martina??

Kinga Błaszczyk-Wójcicka Oh, many, many thanks! Your home-made studio is perfect :) Even if you've just said that this image is not very clear, well, I think exactly the opposite. I love the lighting and colors: great idea of the light blue background. Because of this, you can see clearly the contrast of greens. I like the kind of photos with some shadows, but this one is beautiful for the opposite reason. And what about that bowl?? It's absolutely adorable!
