130716-N-VO234-056PACIFIC OCEAN (July 16, 2013) – Reconnaissance (RECON) Marines from the 1st RECON Battalion of the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) perform rapid deploy and egress maneuvers using Combat Rubber Raiding Craft (CRRC), from the well deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4). Boxer is underway off the coast of Southern California conducting a Composite Unit Training Exercise (COMPTUEX). COMPTUEX is a scenario driven exercise aimed at integrating the ships in the Boxer Amphibious Readiness Group through a series of live training exercises.
