We went to pick up cat litter and were looking at the tall cat "trees" and laughing about how we should get one. And then we began thinking about how Rocky really does like to a) climb up high to hang out b) stare out the window like a nosy neighbor c) really needed a scratching post. Almost all of the cat perches had tiny little levels and a teeny-tiny base and we could easily imagine how these ugly overly carpeted things would easily tip over because he is HUGE! Then we saw this one up on a top shelf (like up near the roof of the Petsmart) and decided to splurge on the beasts.
The nice thing about this one is that it has only two levels, has three different post textures for scratching encouragement, the base is large enough that it won't tip over when Rocky jumps on it, and both levels are high enough that they can stare out the window. The platforms aren't quite large enough for Rocky to curl up in a ball on them, but Boos can. And Rocky seems to prefer sleeping with his head propped up on something anyway.
What you can't see is the feathered cat toy that was dangling from the bottom of the lower level. It was hanging from a linked chain and Rocky ripped it off in the first hour or so it was home.
