Sergeat David J. Porter of the 18th Kentucky Infantry. The 18th Kentucky Infantry was organized at large and mustered in on February 8, 1862. It mustered out on July 18, 1865. The regiment was at Richmond, KY, Hoover's Gap, Chickamauga, Bentonville, and other fights. They were present at the surrender of Johnston and his army and took part in the Grand Review on May 24th, 1865. The regiment lost 5 Officers and 85 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 1 Officer and 152 Enlisted men by disease for a total of 243.
