This is my 18” cutthroat caught with a Helios 5 weight on the Snake River in Jackson, Wyoming a couple of weeks ago. Dan Poole, our guide for three days from the Spotted Horse Ranch, knew exactly where to find these beautiful fish. The first two days of our trip, my husband and I had a fantastic time fishing with dry flies on the Snake and the Salt Rivers. The third day one of the other guests at the Spotted Horse Ranch gave me a streamer that he said would attract the bigger cutthroat. He was right. Fishing with a streamer was more work with continual casting and stripping in, but it was definitely worth it.
