Hawk Lake Lodge

As we get ready to open up for the season we have begun to explore the lakes. While we expected gigantic pike to be shallow we were shocked to find many large smallmouth bass on shallow points, sometimes in less than 3 feet of water. This picture was taken this afternoon of two of our guides (Andrew Downey and Dan Leyderman) who had a double catch of near identical 18 inch – 5 pound smallmouth, caught in 4 feet of water. This bodes very well for the rest of the summer as the smallmouth spawn should be significantly accelerated, meaning the best early season fishing ever.
