Taste of the Town 2018
On Saturday, April 7, 2018, a remarkably diverse crowd of about 200 people gathered at Camp Ketcha in Scarborough to celebrate . . . well, a number of events and accomplishments for the Eastern Trail.
Most dramatically, there was the joy of a successful completion of a campaign to raise $4.1 million to Close the Gap between the off-road South Portland Greenbelt and the Eastern Trail's Scarborough Marsh section. It was time to celebrate and to honor the donors who make it possible to extend the Eastern Trail
Then, it was April: after a long and lingering winter of forbidding cold and icy, inhospitable trails, it was time to warm ourselves together in anticipation of enjoying the outdoors and the pleasures of the Eastern Trail.
Thanks to the supporters— corporate and family and individual— who worked and donated time and funds to the trail and the event, much bidding (in a silent auction), eating and laughing and dancing ensued. Check out the photographic evidence!
