A whole new world....

232.366: One of the two new snow leopard cubs (born may 14th) at the Akron zoo make their daily 45 minute public showing. Zoo keepers are keeping the cubs outside only for a short period of time each day allowing them to get used to the new surroundings. There were several people there, many sporting DSLRs with the sound of shutter clicks filling the air. Slightly bummed that we were not able to view the parent(s).

The cubs were really fun to watch. The pair were bouncing around the various rock structure in their exhibit making use of their long tails and big paws to help them out. It's unfortunate these beautiful animals are at severe risk and steps are being taken by Zoos to ensure they are kept safe. However, reading some online resources it appears only 9 new snow leopard cubs have been born in 2012 thus far.
