Snowflake macro: winter fortress
This small sectored plate snowflake was slightly bigger than 1 millimeter. I've captured lots of new interesting crystals, and will process them soon!
I like six deep rows, which divide hexagonal plate to sectors, and central pattern, resembling dark flower.
14 identical RAW photos, taken as fast series, was aligned and averaged to boost signal-to-noise ratio of final picture. Background: glass, back lighting with LED flashlight, camera Canon Powershot A650is, external optics Helios 44M-5, January 2016.
Here you'll find another version of this snowflake in slightly richer colors.
