"All Creatures Great & Small" at Museum of Arts and Sciences, Macon
The Museum of Arts and Sciences presents All Creatures Great & Small, a special exhibition of paintings, sculptures and mixed-media creations from the Georgia Museum of Art’s permanent collection and GMOA’s Mullis collection.
The Exhibition, on display from October 1, 2013 through January 5, 2014, includes works of art depicting animals created by 57 self-taught American artists, including folk masters Howard Finster and Mose Tolliver and by outstanding but relatively unheralded contemporary artists Jim Lewis and Ted Gordon, and others. The majority of the artists featured have spent their lives in the South, including those from Georgia: Michael Crocker, Finster, Willie Jinks, R.A. Miller, and O.L. Samuels.
