Hipstamatic macro OM-G
I have a new macro lens for my iPhone 4S, and thought that this week's Macro Mondays challenge would be the perfect opportunity to try it out. This is the side of an Olympus OM 50mm f/1.8 lens (which is itself about to get a workout on my much-anticipated OM-D E-M5).
Taken with my iPhone 4S in the Hipstamatic app. All processing, framing, everything chosen BEFOREHAND by picking the lens and film. In this case, Lucifer VI and Kodot XGrizzled, respectively.
Hipstamatic is a "retro" sort of app, and tends toward the grainy. I generally like the look of it for these kinds of shots, when used tastefully and within reason. Here, I thought it would be interesting to see this sort of look combined with the optical qualities of the macro lens (which just attaches to the exterior of the iPhone magnetically).
Although shot with an iPhone, that shallow depth of field is all a natural optical product of the lens. Again, no software enhancement or post production involved.
For the Macro Mondays group theme for 21 May 2012: "Gear". Happy Macro Monday, everyone!
