Ministerial Round table on Trade, Data & Digitalization (2 April 2019)
The discussions of the ministerial roundtable was anchored in the premise that data play an increasingly important role in the digital economy, value chains and international trade.

The data-driven economy gives rise to new opportunities for wealth creation and for addressing sustainable development challenges, but it also raises various concerns related to, for example, data privacy and security, the regulation of cross-border data flows, market concentration and taxation. Countries around the world have been using different policy tools to regulate and harness data and data flows.

This Ministerial Roundtable provided an opportunity for an exchange of views around the relevance of different policy options and tool to help ensure that the growing importance of digital data contributes to inclusive trade sustainable development.
